In Scanlan with Kate Waterhouse
A celebration of global Australian creatives and design expression, Scanlan Theodore dress Kate Waterhouse in a bespoke design.
Drawing influence from the artistic era of ‘Années Folles’, the final look designed for Kate Waterhouse is an homage to the refinement of art deco ornamentations, where dancing gowns displayed fringing, beading and the organic feel of the raffia.
Handmade in the Scanlan Theodore Melbourne-based design studio and crafted from a luxurious brocade silk and raffia fabric sourced from an 1800’s family-run French mill, the dress has been designed with a considered focus on craftsmanship and signature couture principals.
Featuring delicate layers and textures, the Fringe Brocade Dress from Summer 24 was reimagined by Scanlan Theodore Founder, Gary Theodore. The design features a bespoke twist with a high collar neckline and exposed shoulders, the bodice forms a sleek foundation in brocade silk, with a tiered fringe skirt that adds fluidity and playful movement to the design.
